Popular Iconic French vans

First came in to manufacture in1950, also known as “The Pig Snout”. Front wheel drive produced by Chenard –Walcker subsequently Peugeot. One of my favourites however extremely rare and a good condition one will set you back anywhere from £10,000, one with a good chassis but in need of renovation will still set you back anything from £4000 upwards.

In 1955 the D3 was replaced by the D4 which was virtually indistinguishable from outside to its predecessor, with a more powerful engine . In 1959 it was also offered with Diesel engine. Again an extremely rare find.

It’s arrival in 1959 was as a direct result of the Citroën HY Van success and production continued until 1980, although in Mexico they were being produced until 1986. Not quite as popular as the others they are still highly sought after for catering conversions and can be found a little easier and cheaper than its rivals.
